In this report, the Swiss Medical Board (SMB) compares the robot-assisted technique with conventional techniques for radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy. There is some evidence justifying the preference for a robot-assisted intervention. This applies for prostatectomy as well as hysterectomy especially for hospitals with a low number of interventions.
